Greensboro, NC. — The University of North Carolina Board of Governors has appointed Kathleen Kelly as a member to the Winston-Salem State University Board of Trustees. The WSSU Board of Trustees serves as advisor to the Board of Governors on matters pertaining to WSSU and also serves as advisor to the Chancellor concerning the management and development of the institution. It is comprised of 13 members with eight members elected by the UNC Board of Governors and four appointed by the governor. The Student Government Association president serves an ex officio member.
Kelly is a founding and managing partner of Compass Financial Partners, LLC, in Greensboro. Originally from Saratoga, New York, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wake Forest University.
She will serve four-year terms beginning July 1. The appointment was approved during the Board of Governors meeting on Friday, May 19.
