Kathleen Kelly Attends Elite Advisor Forum in Washington, D.C.

The National Association of Plan Advisors Event Provided an Opportunity for Advisors to Meet with Members of Congress and Federal Officials

Greensboro, NC September 25, 2013 – Kathleen Kelly, Managing Partner of Compass Financial Partners was recently invited to participate in the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) Fly-in Forum held September 17-18, 2013 in Washington, D.C. The invitation-only event was available to a select group of 18 LPL Financial advisors representing approximately $30 billion in brokerage and advisory assets under management (AUM) who joined with congressional members, federal officials and other financial advisors from throughout the country to discuss issues critical to the retirement industry.

The two-day forum gave advisors the opportunity to connect with lead Washington policymakers, legislators and regulators to provide input to help shape retirement policy.

The program featured interactive roundtables, breakout sessions, panel discussions and included a keynote address from Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), of the Senate Financial Services Committee, and Congresswoman Ann Louis Wagner (R-MO) a member of the House Financial Services Committee.

The forum provided financial advisors the opportunity for updates on regulatory and congressional updates that could affect the financial services industry. But most importantly, it allowed the advisors to provide their input on how retirement-related issues affect their clients. Additionally, it provided advisors the opportunity to speak directly to members of Congress about what advisors do and what they are the most concerned about.

Bill Chetney, Executive Vice President of LPL Financial Retirement Partners attended the NAPA Forum and said, “It was a privilege to be invited to engage with our leaders in Washington. Kathleen was able to make her voice heard, which is such a vital step in addressing the issues that affect the retirement industry.”

The NAPA Fly-In Forum comes just before the LPL Financial Retirement Partners Annual Conference which will be held in late September in Colorado Springs, CO. That conference is a major industry forum, which is designed for LPL Financial advisors who are leaders in the retirement planning industry. LPL Financial is the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer and a consultant to retirement plans and their advisors.
